About Us

A brief background on Arbor View House Bed and Breakfast and your innkeepers.

Arbor View House

Arbor View House Bed and Breakfast was built early in the 18th century (circa 1780) and was originally constructed in the Federal style. It was a small house, with the entrance at the side.

Around 1873, the home was purchased by Captain Vail and his family. They expanded the living area and renovated the property to reflect Victorian styling. The Vail family was one of the earliest families to inhabit our area of Long Island.

Arbor View House is one of three remaining houses that were built or renovated by whaling Captains in East Marion (originally known as as Little Oysterpond). Captain Vail and members of his family are buried in our local cemetery.

Veda and Wilfred, Your Hosts

When we first started Arbor View House Bed and Breakfast, we wanted to create an atmosphere that was comfortable, relaxing, and romantic. We wanted our inn to be a place where a guest could renew body, mind, and spirit.

To accomplish our goals, we use colors, fabrics, and furniture that create a soothing and warm ambiance. Our beds are soft and comfortable, yet firm enough to ensure a wonderful night's sleep. We choose hypoallergenic fabrics and fillers that even the most hypersensitive of guests be comfortable around.

The food we provide is comfort food, with lots of exotic spices...and occasional suprises. We put our heart and soul into our food and its presentation. It's all designed to make you feel right at home (and, yet, not at your mom's place).

Come visit our bed and breakfast, and enjoy the Arbor View Experience.
